Concept Homes serve to highlight construction design, trends, products, and technology but are often harder for the individual homeowner or buyer to gain more in-depth insight into if they desire to do so.

Yes, you can see products and get an understanding of design but digging down into the nuts and bolts of a home is something that generally does not occur.

The 2021 ADU Idea House was specifically designed and built to serve as a living resource and representation of both a New Construction (ADU Unit) and the Remodeling/Renovation (Primary Home with JADU Unit) project of an older established residence. Allowing homeowners to experience products, materials, construction methods, and technologies that can be utilized in any type of home while also accommodating an ADU.

Additionally, products and partners were solicited as they had a wide range of options available to the average buyer in both more economical and high-end offerings.

Of note, we specifically choose the home itself as it has nearly every potential issue a homeowner might face when renovating a house and adding an internal JADU. This includes taking the home from initial purchase, architecture/design, planning, permitting all the way through renovation and expansion. It also includes the process of permitting and building a brand new ADU from the ground up.

The 2021 ADU Idea House is a living, breathing Think Tank of knowledge, experience, and insights from which we will be sharing throughout the entire journey of construction and use.
